COOP missions not working

Postby ggifter » 26 May 2017, 23:15

So I just downloaded FAF and I linked both Sup Comm and FA to FAF. I still can't load maps, options, or really anything else in a coop game. I can load up the lobby screen but it won't do anything else. Please help as I want to play vanilla with FA UI.

The problem isn't with a specific mission, but the mission lobby. I guess I'm still lost.

By lobby you mean the client is not showing any list of missions or you get into the game lobby and you cant do anything there?
If the second then please post a game.log

In the game lobby, the first thing it shows is that I can't download the map. If I go into options, I can't change anything and it won't let me out of the options menu. I have to force close the game.

It looks like a permission problem when trying to extract the map files. Check the permissions on C:\Users\owner\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\Maps and make sure normal users are allowed to create, delete, and modify files there.

So, I made the changes but it still isn't letting me download the maps in-game for the missions. Also, there's this mod issue as well.

Just that one mod or any mod?
I can download the mod in your screenshot btw.
Also please always post logs when a new issue pops up otherwise the people who are trying to help you have to guess a lot.
The forever.log is being written after closing the faf client so keep that in mind when posting it.

It really looks like there's a permission problem preventing it from saving the files it downloads. I know you said you already fixed the permissions on the map folder, but I still have a very strong feeling that's the problem. Open the properties for the folder C:\Users\owner\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance, go to the Security tab, click Edit... and make sure both Modify and Write are checked for Authenticated Users and Users. If it prompts you to choose whether to apply changes to just the folder or to subfolders and files, make sure to select subfolders and files.
