Total Mayhem V136 causing desync in co-op

Postby Xavven » 06 Jul 2018, 07:57

Hello, I am writing to inquire about an issue that my friend and I are experiencing with Total Mayhem. When we try to play co-op campaign with the mod active, it causes desync issues and eventually causes the game to freeze for both of us. We both have the mod installed and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. Any help towards resolving this will be greatly appreciated, as we both love the mod and would hate to have to play the campaign without it.

Regards,
Xavven

Hello Xavven,

welcome to FAForever :)

Desync errors are mostly because of different game/mod files.
You could first check, if both Total Mayhem installations (Both PC) have the same files.

I added a simple filechecker inside the TM mod.
Just start a game and take a look into the "game.log" of both PC's
You should see these lines :
Code: Select all
INFO: Total Mayhem: [siminit.lua, line:428] - Running from: [...]
INFO: Total Mayhem: [siminit.lua, line:429] - Checking directory /mods/ for TotalMayhem...
INFO: Total Mayhem: [siminit.lua, line:437] - Found directory: /mods/totalmayhem/mod_info.lua.
INFO: Total Mayhem: [siminit.lua, line:442] - Check OK. Found 1 TotalMayhem directory.
INFO: Total Mayhem: [siminit.lua, line:446] - Checking files and filesize for TotalMayhem...
INFO: Total Mayhem: [siminit.lua, line:471] - Check OK! files: 2375, bytecount: 748982656.

If you see this on both PC's then it's maybe not Total Mayhem itself.

In case your TA installation is OK and you have still desyncs, tell me how i can reproduce the error.
What mission, special settings, how many PC's / players etc.

I can't seem to find the game.log, where can I look? I looked through all of the FAF folders in my computer but can't find any of the mods that are installed on the game.

help -> show logs in the faf client reveals the log folder
or you just navigate to C:\ProgramData\FAForever\logs
Programdata is a hidden folder in windows so either copy paste the path into the file explorer or you just tell the windows explorer to show hidden files/folders
cats>dogs
post logs
