Balance patch 3688 Feedback Thread

Today marks the release of a small balance patch. Highlights include moving to a mass-based veterancy system, a Novax buff, and changes to T2 and T3 Mass Fabricators.

This patch seems to address long standing issues. Thank you for your work!

Sera seems to grow into a more well rounded faction then just a one tick pony. I like it.

Area commands and engies not breaking tree groups is still missing though :/

Yeah i agree. While we're at it add a "most efficient BO for this map" template too

Or rather limit selected units to 12 to reducing the dumping of skill by those newbie "ui improvements"?

I can do polemic too ;)

I do not want to derail the thread into a discussion about those features. My point was to express my opinion: I like the progression in unit balance and long overdue features like mass dependent vet, I would like to see the same advances in ui convenience.

Still not sure what the long standing issue relating to vet was. Why was this long overdue?

(Someone pls explain why vet requires quantum basketweaving algebraic integration in order to plan for it)

The main argument is that now EXPs won't vet from T1 engineers

Changing to a system that doesn't take T3 engie and a Battleship as a same vet value seems nice to me. In addition to nerf stupid Exp farming vet on useless units is also welcome.

I know some people like their ML vetting on T1 engies and if some T3 engies get in the way its free 50k HP. So no point arguing with those.


So system that is based on killed mass sounds good. (I also saw someone mentioning it could be based on HP damaged).

What I'd like to see is for all units to vet faster, since right know there are just couple of units where you care about veterancy like Exps, ACU or single T2/T3 units when it's going rambo and you're trying to keep it alive with 500apm.

Also units share experiences from kill, so when you GC get 99,9% dmg to kill enemy mega, and Snoop get 0,0000001% and finish Mega, then GC will get same proporcion of experience as do dmg.
Or when 50 ASF get down czar all asfs will get experience and not one asf will be full vet.

Also when kiling t3 spy plane 200m count same destroy batleship 10500m its something wrong there.

I do have a feeling t1 arty spam vs t4's will be quite strong now though. Just had a sentons where a crab still didn't get his vet after killing 250+ lobo's.
