I keep finding new ways to 'Fix' it in sandbox testing, roll out the change, and in the stranger situations of real games the improvement is minimal. It's the most frustrating bug in the game, by far. The true fix is to make T1 PD/AA a full square in terms of build area (Same size as T2 PD).

Could it be, that the original developers hacked it that way to make walls protecting a pd functional?

why not make the walls higher then?
