Well you aren't the first with this idea..... and I'm not sure you'll get far with it, but sure I'll play along.

Biggest thing you are missing on your balance list is SCUs, otherwise personally I don't see a problem with t2 seraphim land (though admittedly I don't play them a ton), and I've made my thoughts on air pretty clear elsewhere (balance triangle = best but not possible as far as I can tell without messing up a bunch of stuff).

on a slightly more serious note, all these have been discussed to no end already, and this is the 3rd (4th) time they are mentioned in a balance thread here.

so please mention differences in your approach to the other ones, rather than repeating it all again.

as for my opinion, all of these have fixes in both the (Icedreamers) balance preview and ithilises balance mod, and i agree with what both of those mods provide.

and since you don't want to read what they do, heres my opinion (again) : D
t3 air - too much cheese with strat rush, and too little depends on map control and situation, if you win air, you win it for probably the whole game. also sucks that you can only use other air units if you win air.
t3 navy - uef op as every other person will say. because of: cooper, BC , BS , Shield boat.
sera tml acu - op as everyone will say, because 3hp on missile, and can be rushed in teamgames, and useful for killing eco and as combat, and flies over uef/aeon tmd
UEF TML - same problem as above, but better flight path, proper aoe, less useful for combat, generally much more balanced, but still annoying cos you can rush it and 4 people have to also ruin eco to rush tmd, or all mex die to it.
sera land - othuum is a bad joke,

as for whats left out, well if anyone bothers to reply i think they will all offer something thats left out/could be better

so here's my thing, i could list a lot more if you want: cybran tml and how you can rush it just like acu tml and then snipe tmd if its alone. sure its not quite as good, but not far off.

t2 transports: maybe HP boost like +500?they mostly fly agains ASF and Swifts and so they die in second, I like drops and would be nice to see more drops

cybran cloak upgrade: cheeper, similar to Sera nano, for HP boost and for cloak it would consume like 9 000 e/s?(same change for SACU)

I think that the main issue with balance mods is that nobody agrees on every single change in the mod, that's why a balance team should get a mandate to change stuff (listening to the community of course). I don't know why this hasn't been done yet, but every single person and their mothers making a balance mod isn't going to do anything to speed up the process (except for making it possible to copy/paste a desired change by before-mentioned balance team).

That's not how this works. You say you have input from high up community people - we ask you who. When you don't provide, I simply conclude that you don't have the input of high ranked players... Sadly.

No no no, back up there cowboy; The point YOU were trying to make was: You "are not doing this alone" and having valuable input from respected(in regards to player skill/balance paradigm) community members.


So you said, you have 2k+ rated players giving you input. This is what I wanted to confirm for accuracy sake and so the community would not be mislead; You then tried to dismiss it by saying, "Name a 2k and I can almost guarantee I have bounced some idea off of them."

Also, my inflammatory(definition:tending to arouse anger, hostility, passion, etc) posts contributes greatly to this thread as it clarifies: you have not received input from players that you said "are giving you input."


Don't get upset with me just because I investigated the reality of your statements.

Listen, I'm all for anyone coming up with a balance mod; just don't go telling the community you're getting input from 'list of recognizable names,' ...When you haven't actually had a conversation about your mod and it's balance ideas, with these people...

I'm sorry if you feel I'm trying to debunk your balance mod efforts. No, I'm simply taking care of transparency and accuracy - You want to create a mod, go ahead we'd love you for even trying! Just be aware that you can't spout a bunch of names just to give better reception and approval for your ideas in your balance mod if those people haven't actually collaborated with you...
