OK, we nerfed UEF and Sera, so now we have a new 2-ton gorilla.

The only way to counter this is with BS and groundfire. It's pretty absurd how insanely stupidly hard this kind of micro is because battleships can't queue up attacks to kill many of them or attack them at all unless given the specific groundfire command. It's pretty antifun. You can break harms but to do it efficiently (not continue to groundfire a dead one 15 seconds after it died) it will probably take ALL of your APM.

I don't know how to rejig their cost, damage and HP to make it OK, but I think one way to fix this is to put them above water like every other torpedo turret.

Or maybe just do something like equilibrium where groundfire is taken out of the game and torpedo units are balanced so that it works. I have no idea if the solutions they implemented are any good or how much change it would take to the rest of the naval game, but this is a possibility.

Thoughts?

Don't forget the nano engineer cybran sacus with +400 regen making harms in an otherwise close naval fight :mrgreen:

I have never ever lost a won or close navy due to HARMS, all they do is slow down an imminent loss a little bit.

yes SACU has nano, but build HARM take quite a while and it is built above surface! anything can kill before it is done

and ground fire take all your APM, jesus what you have 4? just select few BS/cruisers put ground fire, when HARM is dead hold shift and move to another HARM, this must be so much APM expensive

you never ground fired Sub hunters? I did and it is very easy, but HARM can't move!

I'm not sure HARMS are any more annoying than say, the shields other factions have. I would even go out on a limb and say they need a buff because i think it's kinda BS how they can die to T2 hover and how a couple of frigates can kill them and all their projectiles :D
