3674 hp changes feedback thread

Postby PhilipJFry » 12 Feb 2017, 11:24

Since the 3674 patch has been played for a little while now and the initial outrage seems to have died down i'd like to take this opportunity to make a thread where you (yes YOU) the people can post your feedback/suggestions regarding the factory/mex/pgen hp changes from the 3674 patch.

I did make some suggestions to the rest of the balance team but i'd like to see if i've missed something.

Please don't make any "revert to 3599" or "revert all Zock patches" or similar suggestions.
Replays of games/sandboxes to underline your point are welcome too!

Pretty sure everybody knows by now but the changes should be consistent across the board. No 500 less for cybran but 3000 more for UEF. No more hitpoints for mexes but same hitpoints for air staging. Want factional diversity? Make it factional, not fractional.

UEF also needs a drawback for that extra HP. You can't just have it for free. It doesn't necessarily have to be a nerf to UEF, it can be buff to Sera and Aeon too. Maybe they get extra vision radius for buildings?

Naval HQs need to die to naval nukes. UEF T3 too.

Naval factories die too easily. Please revert HP changes, thank you.

T3 support factories die to T1 bombers.

There is no such thing on setons, there's only bad air player. And now he has one more job, saving low HP factories

I would like to know why the progression behaves so strangely.

Aeon/Sera resource buildings at something around 7500 (t3) and 2160 (t2) seems more reasonable imho*.

I would still like to understand this.

I think it would be helpful if you made public here what your own feedback to the team was.

I'd like this to be some sort of brainstorming and i fear that people might not post their ideas if they feel they don't align with mine. I'll post my suggestions once i get the feeling that the thread has fulfilled its purpose.

I've come to realise that any issues i had with balance were completely misplaced. Everything is easily solved with some tmd, inties, scouts, flaks, shields and just generally being more leet. The balance is perfect.

I have played a couple games with high-intensity action where Cybran t2 hq has died to one tml after tmd was destroyed or missile was fired at an angle that gets around the defended zone.

It is early to judge, but it just seems a tad, too easy. The detrimental effect it has considering the cost and bt of the t2 hq is really harsh : /
