UEF ACU Drones - Unbanned but still an issue

These things need to have a set range around the commander which they cannot go outside of, just had a ladder match where the drones were roaming all over the map walling me off, reclaiming my mex, and all sorts of mischief.

Surely a thing of that size doesn't have the systems onboard to take itself across an entire map. Something like that should have a small radius around the com.

Thoughts? has anyone else come up against these tactics?

You know there are a little thing between tanks and arty in your factories, its mobile AA and take down flying stuff like drones, its almost free and is a good idea build some to cover your base to defend against the weakest flying unit in the game.
Drones are what they are intended to be, usefull for capture far enemy mexes without AA cover or to build expansions without sending conventional units.
We have "Continentals" so moving shit around must be important.

i wouldnt build t1 maa (its certainly not free and delays real tanks; plus it does 2 5ths of fuckall)

however they should die from a single shot from a t1 intie, so when you spot his drone just kill it and then he wasted all that mass and energy.

If you have drones reclaiming your base maybe you prefer delay some real tanks to build maa, they are almost free, almost, cheaper than tanks or arty.
And drones die with single shot from inties, i tested it.
Of course if you already have inties is a better solution than maa but at least maa does not need micro, put it next to that far mex and forget.

All drones can fly around map with absolutely no limit, that is how it currently works, and imo it is fine cause they are so easy to kill with interceptors, and mass drone reclaim of incoming attack can be killed by 1 t2 flack

When are drones ever an issue? Just because you meet them and they are annoying doesn't mean they are a big issue. Like NapSpan suggested, "There is a little thing between your tanks and your artillery on a factory, almost free, called MAA". Put them around the area of drone annoyance and bye bye to them. Inties are a good idea as well, you should have air on every ladder and team game unless it is Thermo.
Don't complain about that which you aren't willing to change.

After considering it, yep. They are not an issue. I actually tried to remove this post the more I thought about it.

Really I'm just a noob being caught out by clever/alternative tactics.

If you want to get really technical about I can show the math involved and how someone like Kalvirox who uses a t1 mantis to t3 loyalist rush will crush you for wasting time with those units.

Just use air power to tackle air-related (drones in this case) threats.

That is very relative, if I scout one guy going all land without AA units he will eat bombers for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In the other hand all my land armies have mixed units, I,m not afraid about enemy bombers or PDs, same in T2 and T3.
Going land rush to T3 is just GG for the other guy if he scouts properly.
