I think the problem is not the fact that the ACU can send out a barrage of missiles, it's that he can do it so early. Because of RAS overflow from air player on Setons, basically right after T2 suite that is started as soon as the reclaim game is finished.

And I think that if you can kill another ACU with TML from the backpack, you deserve the kill anyway.

generally it's not the ACU people go after though, it's the mass.

Exactly, other maps have similar meta though, and also allow for fast ACU TML with overflow from team. Not as fast but still lethal. So the conclusion I was hinting at is that the cost of the upgrade should increase, to delay the moment that TML comes into play.

Yes, but that loads a lot slower, can't move, go underwater etc.

But it doesn't involve putting our acu in danger, can be reclaimed, allows you to get ras or nano regen etc.

These drawbacks are minor in comparison.

- The ~500 mass you get back from the reclaimed launcher doesn't matter when you just wrecked 10 T2 mex from safety and/or unexpected angles. Besides I always find static TML to cost me more because it builds missiles that become useless.
- Other upgrades on the back typically come into play after TMl phase is over, so no problem there either.
- Putting the ACU in danger, well that is true, but the benefits once again outweigh the risks by a large factor. And in the first 10-15 minutes ACU is used for combat / front line building anyway so there is no real difference.
