FAF via Windows Remote Desktop?

Postby Skaekx » 09 Feb 2020, 19:23

Just a small and silly Question.

I own a heavy Server (Ryzen 9 3950x with 2x2080Ti) that's located in my Basement.
Connected to my Monitor is a small Intel Nuc with a Celeron Processor that only runs Remote Desktop.

Could it be possible to play FAF online via Remote Desktop and what would the Performance be like (I would assign one of the 2080Ti to the VM)?

So you have a KVM server and want to run a Windows VM with GPU passthroug on it?
You would need to trick NVidia GPUs for that, because NVidia wants you to buy Quadro for passthrough. If you get it work it should work completely fine (i have never tried something like that though).

Running a remote X server can work without quadro, but you're gonna be lagging your own input.
