To water down those new subforums I'm creating this thread. As the title says, ask any questions regarding game tactics/strategy and you host Petricpwnz a.k.a Pachuriko will answer them with from his humble POV and try to give some tips. Taking questions of any lvl of gameplay.

What do you think of ZLO's start in this game? Or how do you play on red rocks?

(I didn't watch whole replay, but curious about how to start on there)

In terms of BO his start was surprisingly good, but he overmade pgens for 3rd fac. Sending early engie to the middle rocks is essential unless your opponent is aeon and you know he will make an early aurora there. Also im an old fan of first bomber and first bomber is pretty good on that map, so half of the time i would probably go first bomber unless im UEF. I liked his fast transport, though it might be a bit too fast, if enemy also had 2 air factories and good awareness Zlo could've gotten punished and lost both islands, and islands are extremely important there. What i certainly don't like is the usual zlo's commander not leaving his base. ACU is important in holding the middle island, even if you don't push you can put it on this 3 mex group in the middle and get some factory there, secure the reclaim and mexes, it's not worth it to get some small build power advantage for a good fighting unit. But his opponent did the same so it didn't really matter. Fast t2 for wagners is also good there, and maybe even too good unless opponent can manage to get a gun and air control both at once to push you out of the middle island. And of cource not forgetting navy, though rushing it is pretty dubious IMO, you can kill those t1 ships with t2 air\floating t2 tanks fairly easily and then just reclaim them and go your own navy. I like the amount of eco he made (just about "golden middle"), and the air spam with switch to t2 air, its essential in like 80% of games on that map for at least 1 person (who holds air control) to go t2 air.

In general, i would play it pretty much the same (funny because its zlo :D) except not risking with too early transport, using acu agressively and instead of that fast t2 navy invest more into air or good old precious t2 mex.

I got 3 engines in mid and trans dropped engines on 3 different locations and then on second island too

so I had ton of mass and could do whatever I want, I even made second land fac in base to spam engirs

Hi Petric,

I recently played a white fire (replay 3097328) where as cybran, i could just not deal with hordes of sera t2 tanks coming at me. How can I push them back? I had lots of frigates and destroyers but couldn't cope. I know in that game I was running at half eco so that was a big factor but I feel like I could have held him off if I knew how.

Your first mistake leading to this was that you made alot of subs to fight his frigates, but instead of just sending subs you were sending all your naval force thus losing some frigates in frigate vs frigate and decreasing your anti floating protection. Also the amount of subs was a bit overkill, more frigates instead would've definetly came in handy. A mistake on his part was not mixing any floating arty in, so you should've made t1 pds on all key points where he can harass you with t2 tanks (you made them on the side, but they were quite necessary on the front island too). Good idea would also be to make t2 stealth torp acu to fight his navy and reclaim wrecks, which also would soften up his force significantly for your navy, but not sure if you could've afforded that with your eco. Probably the biggest thing is just that you needed more build power on frigate spam, though thats not so easy to achieve, and hover is quite strong in general when you can take advantage of its fast production, which he did. Cybran destoyers aren't useful and gunships were a bad idea because of the amount of air he had and his ability to spam floating flak. I would say you have to scout his t2 land fac in time and prepare a healthy frigate spam, luckily cybran frigate is a beast and can also rape air quite nicely. Aslo a friendly advice - switch to t2 power faster, those t1 clusters of pgens are not cool :D

What is a good mass income to go ras assuming you already have four t2 pgens? In a game I went ras too early and it was the only economic reason I could identify that would have caused me to lose. Also what about aras? Is it twice the cost of normal ras? Thanks.

Upgrading from RAS to ARAS costs the same as from no RAS to a single RAS. For a fast RAS on 2 t2 pgens, if you aren't making anything except RAS in the meantime, you can go with ~70-80 average mass income including reclaim. 4 t2 pgens is excessable for teamgames, go with 2 or 3. For 1v1 though you just need as much t2 pgens as it would make your power go to at least +700 or similar unless you are going for a very slow RAS, and in terms of mass in 1v1 you probably will be making units in the meantime, so you need a bigger mass income to support RAS and not totally stop unit production, best would be to go RAS after getting some nice reclaim field so you don't delay any of your projects. But generally i don't recommend relying on numbers like this, but just applying logic and trying to see how you want to go about your RAS in the game real-time.

About RAS, I usually start it with 2 T2 pgn link with 3 energy storage to each other. And I assist with everything I can, stoping all production around.

Is that a non-sense stupidity or did it worth it to crash is eco for a moment and try to rush it that way ?!
