I believe a few things can be added to the patch to make aeon more competitive for naval warfare.

1) Give Tempest more speed, so that it can move a bit better and be able to avoir some slow shots like Cruisers missiles. I suggest +0.3 speed (I wonder why only the Atlantis recieved it when the Tempest needs it as well for the exact same reason). Another possibility instead of speed is to add some HP to make up for the fact that it can be hit by everything without possibility of dodging, so maybe + 10000 HP.

2) Give + 750 HP to the T3 torpedo bomber (Solace). Why 750 hp? Because it's the HP value that will allow it to survive one more Cruiser salvo. It should help this unit to be used for more than a single pass. Right now, it dies too easily to Cruisers, it's (much) better to make multiple t2 torp bombers mass for mass.
This buff will make up for Aeon very specialized navy at t3.

I don't think anything needs to be changed for t2 navy, since the mobile shield big buff will make Aeon navy super strong at this stage.

i always thought if it would be cool if the tempest could switch from submerged to hover.
it might make it op thought but it would really buff it because it can either be shot by onsurface weapons or torpedoes and you can decide what! as a result the only counter to a tempest would be a mixed on and sub surface fleet

Would be nice to see the Infinity's deck gun replaced with a Fizz Launcher. The gun as it currently stands is absurdly useless.

The aeon cruiser's gun is supposed to be useless. Aeon ans Sera have no ability to attack targets with guns. Uef does a tiny bit, but still it doesn't do much.
And then you get Cybran which can.

I made a mod that allowed the tempest to build all Aeon hover units. The idea came up in this thread. With the new mobile shield enhancements, it could make the Tempest quite defend-able. Since it could also build the Absolver, UEF naval shields and all coastal shields would not be that effective and the Tempest can rain down on them.

I don't know man, "Supposed to be useless" doesn't really sound all that justified for a warship. If the deck guns or Surface to Surface weaponry for all T2 AA Cruisers were supposed to be useless, it doesn't stand to reason to have one that is significantly more useless than 'useless', in comparison.

The point being that Aeon units are very specialised to their roles. The cruisers embody this in that they have very good AA but have almost useless anti-ground.

It is not as if Aeon is starving for options to defend their Tempests and cruisers.
Aside from the frigates, destroyers and battleships every faction has, you can always send your remaining Auroras to protect them.

The only problem I've really had with Aeon navy is how the Tempest might get stuck on the ground or units when dodging TML's.


Tempest speed is okay, rate of fire is workable - just give it a fix so that it can dodge TML near land or around other units.

We should wait and watch how the shieldbuff works out before buffing aeon navy too mutch.
T3 torp bombers are strong enough imo they should rather get nerfed hp. Did u ever try to kill those torp bombers with cyb cruisers? Uts a joke how many shots they can take. Buffing the tempest a little would be ok imo. Maybe make the big gun move a bit faster it is painfull slow.
