Shield Recharge Rates Glitch.

Just a link, but everything has already been hashed out in this thread. The fix just needs to be implemented somehow by anyone with greater skill at sorting programming than I ;)

I honestly think having shields take damage when other shields nearby take damage is just a horrible script idea. Nerf shield max health or nerf shield regen based on nearby shields, but don't just damage other shields that haven't been sot :-/

I agree with the nerf applying to mobile shields... Base shielding I can go either way on, but if it is implemented I would at least like it to work correctly :)

I have to recheck the code, but I'm pretty sure it's not possible to affect a downed shield. (recharging and depleting are two different functions, the recharging is not affected when the shield is hit)

Did you watch the replay in that other forum post? You could watch as the #2 shield fell farther and farther behind... Granted the effect is not too huge unless you are taking a bunch of fire on 3+ shields, but it is there. I have attached another replay from the current balance mod with a different turret providing damage. You can see how the two start their cycles at the exact same time, but the lapped shields are noticeably lagging behind by the 3rd cycle with only one PD providing damage.

Yes, it's horrible. It only takes a tiny amount of damage to completely halt your downed shield's recharge; I exploited this several times with sending light t1 forces at a shield to damage it *slightly* and in the replay those shields' recharge halted. Spearheads and a few t3 mob arty ruined that guy's day very quickly.
With t3 mob arty or something similar, and if your opponent does this (and it's not like it's difficult or rare) your defensive point is far less effective than it should be.

If you want to see this bug in action, just go play some defense scenario maps. You will notice pretty quickly that once a shield goes down it will never recharge if there is any AOE damage being done to surrounding shields.
This bug isn't exactly game-breaking, but it is annoying and not too difficult to exploit.
