Pre-built Markers and Symmetrical Markers?

Postby MinisterPhobia » 28 Aug 2014, 12:08

I'm still new to the map editor and I'm learning how everything works. I've gotten to the placement of Markers into my map and I'm finding it very frustrating determining how far an ACU can reach in comparison to the map size. This is making it difficult to decide where to place Mass markers, Hydrocarbons, and how close to put the starting points together.

I'm wondering, as such, if it's possible to pre-build sets of markers (starting point, 4x Mass evenly spread around it, and possibly a hydrocarbon or something within a reasonable distance) that I can then simply drag and drop onto the map, rather than having to mess with it every time.

Also, is there a good way to make markers symmetrical so that neither team gets more or less than the other? I was hoping I could export the marker positions like I did for the elevation and texturing process and then use photoshop to mirror them, but, there doesn't appear to be any functionality for that.

So, suggestions or ideas?

No, you can't rotate markers.

I do it like this: Place initial markers. Place dummy props under markers. Copy and rotate dummy props. Place new markers on rotated dummy props. Delete all dummy props. You can make templates in the sens that you can copy and paste the correct lines from one _save.lua to the other.
