You should not be afraid of setting more of the decals to be always visible. Today's PCs are better and can handle that no problem and map looks better.
And it even looks that they are all set to one value when Im zooming around a bit

I really want to see a version of Pelagial with a big enough middle island.
Imo would add a nice touch to the map :)
