A weird map editor error [SOLVED]

Postby Plasma_Wolf » 05 Apr 2014, 15:48

I have recently reinstalled Supreme Commander to deal with an issue that caused desynchs at the start of every game, but now I'm having another issue, one that makes it completely impossible to edit maps.

On startup, I get the following error message. I don't know anything else. Any ideas? :)

The solution: Patch Supreme commander vanilla to version 3280.

Because you mentioned you reinstalled SupCom, did you patch to v3280? Run SupCom Vanilla and just make sure.

The fact that the game just asked for the disk means that I should say "no" now. I'll update when I've found the patches back (shouldn't be too hard).

Edit: where can I find those nowadays? I don't have them on the Disk drive anymore (because I thought I wouldn't need them) and the THQ link I got through the GPG website is dead...

And Edit2: I found another link in the GPG forums, yay! This is a bit annoying though, having to search for the patches really tells you how old and "dead" the game is. That is, SupCom vanilla (Not FA obviously)

Edit3: That did it, thanks!

I also have this issue were the game desynchs at the begining of every game, with no visible consequences, but reinstalling the game didn't change anything for me :(

You have reinstalled both FA and SupCom vanilla?

I don't remember exactly but I suppose I just reinstalled FA since the desynch at the begining of a game is in FA.

I did that too at first and it didn't help. Later I reinstalled both Vanilla and FA, and the desynch was gone.

Here's a link to the topic I made when I had the problem: http://www.faforever.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6790
