ACU Spawn Blast Decal sharp Edges

For some reason the spawn blast decals of the ACUs suddenly got sharp visible edges on my map... And I cannot figure out why that is. But it is annoying the hell out of me and I want it gone. Does anybody have an idea what might be causung this?

Possibly lighting of your terrain: change the texture of your land (you probably don't want to do this) or fiddle about with the lighting in the (I believe it's called) lighting menu.

I would advise you to try to save the texture of your terrain with another setting. Try DXT1 without alpha, then dxt1 with one bit alpha, then if if doesn't fix it, try dxt3 (explicit alpha) then finally dxt5 interpolated alpha. One on these settings should be the proper one and may do the trick. I never worked with terrain texture, so i cannot tell you which one is the good one (I would bet on dxt5 interpolated alpha, gut feeling).

@ pip: Sorry, I have no idea how to do that. I take it, those are some... file format things?

Edit: I fixed it now, by changign the lighting... which is kind of annoying, as I don't want that lighting...

DTX are the different quality format of the .dds files. It has to do with compression I believe. When saving a .dds file you can choose wether you want it in DTX1, 3 or 5.

But I save my texture masks as RAW... am I not supposed to do so?

Texture masks should be saved as a .raw, he was talking about the decals, those things are .dds

It's a bit weird that it works only on a particular lighting though.

Well, I think the ligting confioguration itself was weird... look how odd the blast decal in its entirety looks... it almost looks like the colors are inverted in their brightness. What should be dark is bright and what should be bright is dark
