I think this is an issue of opening FA maps, specifically the *.scmap file. No matter what official FA map you copy into the SupCom Vanilla map folder to try to open with the editor it will crash. Even if the map was present in Vanilla; delete the Vanilla version, and copy over the FA version, it will crash.
The only way I got it working was doing the following:
- Made a copy of the FA version of Setons and renamed it setons test.
- Renamed all the files in the folder from SCMP_009*.* to setons test_*.*
- Copied the folder setons test to the SupCom Vanilla Folder.
- Opened up setons test_scenario.lua and made the following changes under ScenarioInfo = {
from
- Code: Select all
map = '/maps/SCMP_009/SCMP_009.scmap',
save = '/maps/SCMP_009/SCMP_009_save.lua',
script = '/maps/SCMP_009/SCMP_009_script.lua',
to
- Code: Select all
map = '/maps/SCMP_009/SCMP_009.scmap',
save = '/maps/setons test/setons test_save.lua',
script = '/maps/setons test/setons test_script.lua',
So what it is doing is using the SupCom Vanilla map file, but using the features in the FA version such as how the reclaimable mass in the middle no longer has a Fatboy and Monkeylord (as was present in the Vanilla version).
Perhaps the FA maps are encrypted. Maybe Hazard X Scenario Editor (or whatever it is called) can open those files to at least grab the terrain? No idea.
