New sacrifice function.

New sacrifice function.

Postby Ze_PilOt » 18 Feb 2013, 12:21

This is a little late for proposing that change, but I kind of promised it to fdfdfdfdf or whatever :)

Aeon has a sacrifice option that can transfer mass & energy into what you build.

The idea is to extend that function to factory. Instead of transferring their mass, they transfer a certain amount of their BP into the factory. (80%? 90%?).

i think it's better to wait for Zock and Rien to finish the Engy Redesign mod, i like the idea of multiple t3 facs better than the idea of having a single one pushed to 20000 buildpower

and to give only aeon this advantage? i think sacrificing 80~90 % of their mass into a pd or a t4 would be nice, but not for facs

that is possible? sounds like a good idea. although i dont see why they should transfer less than 100% of their buildrate.
after all they commit flexible build capacity to a more inflexible one.
less lag and no more unit cap! make it happen.

Bad idea imo, as you will not be able to see how much BP an enemy factory has. It also needs a hard limit on the number of engies you can sacrifice into a factory, and hard limits are bad.

I do not understand.

You hit sacrifice on your factory that producing units, engy comes and sacrifice himself and dies, factory now have +4 or 5 BP? for what period of time? :O that actually sounds too cool, it is like protected ingeners inside of factory, even if you cant use them in any other way anymore

I imagine team game when aeon player sacrifice engineers to uef land fac connected to 2 t3 mexes, and they spam percies FTW

indeed it can make adjacency bonus OP

so i do not think it can apper in FA
at least you can make BP assimptotically increas to N*BP (n=2 you can double BP of factory), it's like 1rst ingeners gives +5 second +4 third +4 4th +3.... 15th gives 0 BP or 0.1 xD

anyway i do not like random changes, we need only solve problems without making all factions same :P

- This is not exclusive.
- Why cybran and UEF have an advantage with engy stations ? Also, faction diversity.

add 1 hp per engi to the factory then.

This would make tactics like damaging the enemys buildpower useless. Which would give Aeon an extreme advantage in air play. A great problem is also that the adjacency bonus that was introduced in one of the latest patches would become OP.

Engineering stations aren't very efficient compared to T1 engineers. Not only that but the UEF ones are actually a liability to shields when asf or ints come past your base.
