But i dont know any other map where the water level is changing with zoom level. Thats very confusing. While zoomed in the Maps look great but when zoomed out it looks like the map is 100% under water.

Could you just dumb the maps.zip here? I am really interested in checking them out :D.
Wow the 4 maps you posted look really good, especially the first 2 ones. How much editing was done and how much was generated because they look surprisingly good.
By the way could random name generators possibly be used for the names of the maps?
for example:
get a word from here
http://fantasynamegenerators.com/planet ... 42sEPl_tLV
and attach a noun from here
http://www.desiquintans.com/noungenerator.php
this could possibly result in a load of proper map names

These two maps do have a water bug in them, just zoom out all the way. It's reallllly bad on Muritan.

Now I see what you meant by the water bug. I had forgotten about that after the initial play test, and I never got back around to figuring out the problem.

Those maps are 100% computer generated. No additional editing was done.

Yes. The names on those maps are randomly generated as well. A name list could be used too.

Why do I have to come up with names for hundreds of maps? :P

I'm at work so I can't look at the maps now but randomly generated symmetrical/balanced maps would be awesome. Seconding that there should be a tournament when the process is bugfixed. I'm not a mapper but happy to help play test or whatever.

@Iszh,

After some quick testing, it appears that using certain combinations for the water LERP settings can cause that effect. I also found out that one can actually make some truly hideous looking water if one puts some effort into it. :D

Anyway, the fix for the map generator is simply to further restrict the possible values for those settings. If time permits, I'd really like to remove the random element from the water. Using a set of pre-built oceans themes (from which the map generator could choose one), would probably result in a more consistently appealing result.

wow

a) i meant two ingame screenshots to show how good the maps look (vs the preview which doesnt do it justice) but you went to so much effort
b) cant believe the diversity, seriously i looked at your CGMs a while ago but didnt 'get' how good they are

how about a quick ingame 1080p video then? :P or ask TA to do it ... he's always promoting stuff right?
