Defending planets without any own planet connected to it

I just can't get over this topic.
So are you now supposed to be able to defend a planet without connections but >50% or arent you?
If i got you right, Ze_PilOt, it should be possible. Apparently it isnt:
With the picture i, as a seraphim, want to show that it doesnt work. I clicked the planet but there's no option to defend
