You want to contribute to galactic war?
Here you can find a list of open task, that require no programming skills.
This list will be updated over time.
You can post your results here, in Slack at #galactic-war or ping me directly.

:!: Map preparements
GW planets have a map assigned. To do this, we first need to build a pool of suitable maps.
These maps need to be evaluated and the starting spots need to be assigned to a team. (i.e. on map A team 1 has slots 1,3,5,7 but on map B team has has slots 1,2,3,4)

:!: Graphics, videos and assets
For our graphical user interface we need some high quality assets. I.e. faction and/or unit images. Icons or gui elements preferrably as SVG.
Some promotion or introductary videos are also cool (may be ingame footage as well).

:arrow: We need the files and your permission to use it. Preferably you share your work under a Creative Commons share-alike licence.


:!: Copywriter for faction background, introduction texts, etc.
For the faction selection screen we like to introduce all faction.
Furthermore we need to write introduction what galactic war is, how to play it etc.

:arrow: For further information contact me.
:arrow: Send us your text and your permission to use and change it.

:!: Faction names for the random character name generator

On creation of a character, the player gets to choose between 5 names.
All names are supposed to be a combination of a random first name and a random surename.

:arrow: We need a huge list of first names and surnames for every faction.


:!: Rules & formulas for gaining XP and ranks

There are 10 ranks in galactic war.
You start with rank 1.
You gain experience, and if you have enough xp for the next rank you level up.

We need to define, which actions give you how many XP, and what are the XP limits for each rank. (The logic will apply to all factions.)
Things that give XP:
[*] Winning a battle (may depend on the attacker-defender-ratio or the total number of players in the battle)
[*] Killing an ACU (may depend on the enemy's rank)
[*] Killing an experimental

Like in every other game it should get harder to get the next rank each time.

:arrow: I'd like to see some tables and/or formulas together with some sample calculations.



:!: Rules & formulas for credit income and unit costs
It will be possible to gain credits and spend them on units, that you can use in battle.

We need to define, how much income certain actions will bring and what the prices for units will be.
Things that give income:
[*] Regular once per hour
[*] Winning a battle (may depend on the attacker-defender-ratio or the total number of players in the battle)
[*] Killing an ACU (may depend on the enemy's rank)
[*] Killing an experimental

:arrow: We need to define the cost of each unit (different prices per faction).

I updated the list, but there is not so much to do in terms of non-coding and the feedback on the remaining tasks was ... humble.

About maps - Is there anything that I might add to map editor? Like verification if spawnpoints are correctly configured etc. Maybe some presets for galactic war maps?
