hey there, i LOVED GW - sadly i have only knowledge in shell scripting and SQL as well as map making, i hope that you get all the help you need.

btw, anyone knows why GW was removed in the first place ? i was inactive around that time

Zep pulled it offline due to it having a memory leak afaik, but he never got around to fixing it. It was also pretty unpolished, with major imbalances with reinforcements and glitchy maps. Still the most fun I've had playing this game though! I hope GW will sometime see a return.

Short update on the current progress:

We have put some work into the java server and the java client. GW can now tell the java server to open a game for players and on the player's computers the game actually opens like a ladder game. Unfortunately no ACUs spawn, so there is still some work left we did not identify yet. However, the fact that we can open the acual game is already a huge achievement.

when was the last day of the last universe? 3 years or 4 years ago? uef clan was founded begin of 2014, half a year later gw was gone in autumn corrrect? so it should be now exactly 4 years gw is gone. sad! they promised so much with new team.

Don't give up hopes yet. I got an explanation of the project structure (backend) from brutus last week and will start work on this. (to me the backend looks like a lot is already completed)

I have no idea of the status of the frontend, the major issue with the backend currently seems to get the integration with FAF running.

Sadly real life ( ) got into the way last week so I had no time to get started. I'm also currently trying to get ICE completeld/into deployment. (which I've been working on for too long now, so it either works or I will start work on GW while still running tests)
