Needing a Coder's Help (Ingame UI)

Postby brandonpotter0 » 25 Oct 2013, 16:17

As the title says, I would like a coders help in adding a new part to the ingame UI that works with Unit Enhancements like in Vanilla. Its pretty...intense stuff. I have the textures made for my mods own ACUs, As well as the Seraphim ACU, but not the code to use them in FA.

Its the Enhancment Window/UI from Vanilla SupCom that I wanna put into FA, with my mod of course :3 And some alterations to help it fit the FA Borders/layout.

This is sorta what I intended to put into FA to replace those lil enhancement icons. yes, this is Vanilla, and yes it does work in that version of SC :P

Pic: The Cybran, Aeon and UEF ACUs thus far. Will update with Seraphim one when the model is polished.

The 3 main ACUs. Seraphim not included...yet.

I know that doing the code for this would be alot of work, and Id do it myself, but I suck at advanced coding like this, since Im more of a textures/Model/Sounds kinda guy.

seriously, you should do it yourself.. i dont think anyone is going to write that complex time consuming code for you.
if you want it in fa, your going to have to do it yourself, like the rest of us do..

I would, but I put that part of coding to the side for the moment, and am working on improving my modelling, and learning animation. Thats the problem when your working on a huge mod by yourself....cant do everything :\

I have a feeling you gave up already a looong time ago. Id use DMS for the layout, as it seems easier to work with, but theres some annoying bugs in it :\

no actually i got ill, and took 11 months out, when i returned the forum had died, so i drifted for a little while, i caught up on other games in that time, then i figured id start a mission editor for fa just for the sake of doing it... i never gave up.

your frustrating brandon, anything code related that you cant copy/paste you just give up if no one will write the whole code for you, this is why you cant code for shit you never try to code, after all this time you should know how to code or atleast be able to form simple functions, after 2 years i knew fa inside out, and thats with all my texturing and modeling and god knows whatever else i was doing as well, coding is the easiest part..

i think its time for you to give up on fa, its just not your thing pal, i didnt think i would say that to anyone, but after 2 years you havent grasped
even simple function creation. If your planning on modding pa i wouldnt bother with that either, the coding for that is even harder than fa's simple function structure, 99.9 of people modding fa pick the code up in a week to 2 weeks, they get shit done, thats just not the case with you.. you just seem to be full of excuse after excuse..

when i said i give up, i actually meant i give up on helping you.

Well excuse me for preferring textures and models over Lua coding. Geezes. Not everyone can be good at Lua ya know. There is some custom coding in my mod now that WASNT Copy/pasted, and I managed to figure it out myself. Thank you very much.

So before you start making accusations that I cant do a damned thing by myself, Think for a few moments before saying anything.
