FAF requirements

Postby burnstreet » 31 Mar 2013, 00:28

Hi

I am looking at the FAF source to see if I can help improve it but I have difficulties getting it built properly.
It seems I am missing some requirements, as the "dist" directory built by setup.py is missing some files the faf distribution has.

I am on default branch.

I have all the requirements I need according to readme.txt:
- Python 2.7 32 bits
- PyQt4 with QT 4.8.4
- Python Win32Api (pywin32-218)
- Py2Exe 0.6.9
- Numpy 1.7.0
- Scipy 0.12.0b1
- Python matplotlib 1.2.0
- FreeImagePy
- bsdiff from the faf distribution

but still the dist directory is missing the following files:
_imaging.pyd
API-MS-Win-Core-LocalRegistry-L1-1-0.dll
matplotlib.nxutils.pyd
mfc100u.dll
MPR.dll
msvcp100.dll
msvcr100.dll
mumble_link.pyd
numpy.core._sort.pyd
PyQt4.Qt.pyd
qgif4.dll
qico4.dll
qjpeg4.dll
qmng4.dll
qsvg4.dll
qtga4.dll
qtiff4.dll
uid.dll
win32wnet.pyd

it also contains the following files not in the official distri:
_tkinter.pyd
numpy.core._dotblas.pyd
tcl85.dll
tk85.dll
win32pdh.pyd
win32pipe.pyd
tcl (directory)

what am I missing / doing wrong?

py2exe is missing a lot of files.

Except mumble_link (the readme should be updated) and uid.dll (an external program like FA), all the others files are related to the libraries in the readme.

But you are not supposed to build the lobby yourself to test any change. You can run (and should) run the lobby in dev mode.
That can lead to huge problems if you interfere with FAF version numbers.

...but you still need uid.dll (and mumble_link) to run the lobby successfully, also in devmode.
