Scathis toggles as antiaircraft gun?

Think about it; it's a rotary cannon with large aoe, cybran have aa which can toggle direct fire. How hard would it be to mod? I don't know if SC can find a firing solution with the first leg of a high ballistic parabola, so maybe give the AA gun no arc like other AA and simply halve its max radius. Edit: and make it explode at target altitude.

That would be much different from a Fatboy or Mavor.

Overpowered? Not at twice the mass of an air experimental (which it still couldn't quite destroy before taking damage)

The splash damage alone would ensure total devastation to ASF swarms... that alone is cause for worry, but also immunity to it's natural enemy: strats. Maybe you could tinker with this in a mod, but I don't see this as a good idea.

Is the Scathis so effective against ground counterattacks, or just bases, at half T3 heavy artillery long range? What about close range?

I failed to add that it ought to retain its deployment requirement., and that it would be relatively slow for an AA turret. (90/s yaw, vs 180, 30/s pitch vs 180)

This is sure be a cool concept, but at the end of the day I agree with Quarian -- you are making the Scathis immune to its natural counter.

Yeah Scathis vs. air is epic I use it a lot for that purpose!

If it were able to shoot an ASF swarm, it would melt their faces off. Or strats and gunships, for that matter. It would be a funny mod, but not really balanced. Scathis is good as it is.
