Cybran shield - upgrade idea

I´ve just got idea, we all know that Cybran shield are recharged after upgrade and make them ED5 is extremely expensive and take very long time

so what if those shields got new toggle ability called let say "shield recharge", on as default
-- if ability is on, then shield will act like now
-- if ability is off, then shield after upgrade will not recharge and all so upgrading will be cheaper and need less time
-- so under fire you would have expensive rechargeable shield after upgrade, but if you just want get better protection for your base(not under fire) you would get cheaper upgrade with less time needed to upgrade

--how would it work if ability is off? ED1 has 4000HP, when you upgrade to ED2, ED2 stay on 4000HP and will slowly recharging to 7000HP by ED2 shield regen(130HP/s it has?? dont know)

sum ED1 shield cost/time + all upgrades cost/time = UEF T3 shield cost/time (just similar)

would be nice trade for nerf TML!(ED5 as T3 shield would be all so nice)

So you're saying you want the shield not to be on upon upgrade in exchange for a cheaper upgrade?

...but you're going to turn it on eventually, right? So isn't the end cost the same? And if the shield goes on at the same time (either the upgrade time or the upgrade + recharge time you are proposing) couldn't the rate of resource use also be the same? EG, if you just upgrade with less assistance, it would use resources at the same rate as the idea you are suggesting.

I wouldn't mind having ED5 be available as a standalone at the T3 level for a small discount on the upgrade price from ED2. It would be very useful and make shielding your base late game not such of a hassle.

why not make a button that is toggable that way that you can upgrade it to 99%.
when you are attacked, you can, after the shield almost brakes down, even let it automated upgrade, or if you want to nerf it a little, let the commander (us) push the toggle button to let the upgrade finish..

this would be the sneaky cybran way, made easier.

and of course, you could upgrade all the way up to the highest tech without recharging in between the stages.

I always wondered, is there a reason there is no T3 shield for Cybran? It just makes much more sense, that like the other races you'd be able to build the highest tech shield straight away once you got to T3.

Its excuse, excuse are all time bad fix.

Cybran shield are shit, because are too weak and on high level too expensive. But thay reacharge ability is total same as is on UEF/sera shield when is upgraded. Fix bad situation with excuse make only more cancer. Rather fix it with normal healthy way as make them cheaper on higher level. And add "T3" shield that would be ED4/5

it was just idea, some inspiration maybe, I didnt believe they implement it ;)
