How about that?
Who did not dislike the behaving of slower units that were built before faster ones that always bump into the front man, time after time.
even worse, if the commander tries to draw back, he bumps in his own units that are blocking him.
i know, this can be also be good and i myself like it also. it can be used as a tactic and you should never steer your ACU in such a situation
AND
i hate other games when it is not done. they all do not care about this or lets say they are ignoring it because it just makes too much trouble.
it feels kind of unrealistic. and i praised for Forgead Alliance (and even more TA) for not doing so.
BUT
if we see it realistic, there are also many things that are not realistic. or lets say its not pulled through the whole way.
what about the wrecks that do not block?
what about the shots of our units that go through other friendly units (i think it behaves this way but for arty shells some do hit friendly units and own as well).
what about shots that go through the dragon teeth?
so i think that it should be thought about turning the stuff around:
units can cross each other while wrecks should block.
if wrecks should not block for also understandable reasons (cpu time, pathfinding, blocking whole passages) what about just trying the thing that units do not block.
enemy units shall block but the own and friendly units not.
what do you think? are there other reasons why this should not be tried besides the possibility that the "reality feeling" could suffer?
another thing would be very interesting too:
what about dragon teeth that do also not block the own units and friendly ones?
this would be a very effective way of using them and also give them more use.
what do you think?
