Fixing T3 SAM launchers

During air wars, my friend and I noticed that T3 SAM launchers don't have normal behavior. They all target the same aircraft, and due to long reload time, this renders them ineffective against large waves. If their damage was reduced but reloaded faster, it may be a more effective unit more fitting of its Tech 3 status. Same goes for Ravenger point defenses. They could also remain the same but adapt smarter targeting.

This was considered, however, the mods that modify SAM targeting are buggy, so AOE was added instead. You can also build SAMs in banks, so they don't all target the same aircraft. ASFs also acomplish the same purpose. :lol:

In case you had not noticed, the higher the tier static defense, the more front loaded the damage is. The t3 PD is not meant to deal with spam.... that is the t1 and t2 job. It is meant to obliterate high HP units with intense volleys. You just need to stagger out your SAMs so they don't all target the first craft they see. On another note, building ASF> building static defense.

Don't build entire rows of SAM. They work better when spread out over an extended perimeter. If you group SAM's in pairs, and locate them so they are just inside of the firing range of adjacent SAM sites, that should give the desired effect. Ultimately, ASF will be needed to deal with T3 aircraft.
