3708 ongoing development thread

Hello there,

this thread is meant to give you an overview of what is going on regarding the next game development/bugfix patch.
Since we're currently at version number 3707 and i assume we'll release this before the next balance patch i will claim the patch number 3708 for now.

I will tag all Pull Requests for this patch with the 3708 milestone so you can easily filter and find them here
currently the following changes are merged into the deploy/fafdevelop branch and thus available for public testing via the faf client by playing the FAF Develop game mode:

Shouldn't this be 3707? We are currently at 3706. And some of the pull requests have the 3707 milestone and not 3708.

we are 3707, due to an hotfix to revert exe change from 3706

I see. I got confused because the latest development thread and news post are both about 3706.

In order to test the new sera shader you might need to purge the cache folder first:

updated the OP to add

especially the supreme props change could use some public testing since the fps issues we have noticed in the current patch differ vastly depending on your setup (the better your gfx card the less you may notice the current issue)
to compare the change you can sandbox on any map with lots of tree groups (like Selkie Island) and break as many tree groups as possible and press "/" on your numpad to display the fps in game

updated the OP to add
13 - Curated maps button - adds a button to the lobby that directs the user to the curated maps thread on the forum

currently the link leads to a placeholder thread which needs to be filled with content
hopefully we can encourage users to play more different maps by promoting them in various ways

bumping the thread since a few more changes were added

Keyser and i agreed on calling it a day for new features within this patch - from now on only fixes for bugs introduced by the patch will be reviewed/merged and we will release the new patch on the 5th of October

We know of a few bugs with change nr. 7 - should we not find someone who can fix them for us i will revert the PR to avoid introducing known bugs

Please help us test the patch by playing the FAF Develop game mode and give us feedback if possible/required
