So this has probably been asked many times in the past, but i wasn't around back then so let me ask it myself: Is there any possibility in an upcoming change in the veterancy system? Because lets get real, it's one of the most absurd and probably most hated things in the game.

The basic idea of veterancy is okay: To give experienced units more hp and regen. It is a nice addition to the game, but it's been made way way way too overpowered, and i'm mostly talking about t4's and acu's. The amount of times czars got a surprise 40k extra hp or a 400hp acu with nano got 9k hp thanks to a vet is both ridiculous and stupid and i'm honestly not sure why it was ever implemented into the game.

I hear everyone complain about it all the time but don't see or hear anything about there being a possible update, so that's why i'm making this topic. Feel free to express your opinion.

I'd say you can guess 3 times but you should be fine just with one guess :D

Personally I want the HP boost removed and replaced with a DPS buff and a RoF buff.

No more free heals. Each vet level should grant a 20% damage and 20% rate of fire. ( Vet 5 T3 point defense would be scary )
Or just do vet levels in vanilla Supcom. Firepower, RoF, and Regen, but no instant heals.

The stock veterancy system currently supports only 2 buffs - HP and Regen.

IF the buff is not specified in the unit blueprint, then a default value will apply -- which is why the HP buffs for experimentals and such can seem so extreme. For most units, the Regen buff is specified in the blueprint and can easily be modded.

The system has a good amount of flexibility and can be modded to support additional levels of veterancy, and other buff types (ie. - vision radius, movement speed, etc). They key to it making sense though is the usual bugaboo - balance.

There is a very real chance of a vet rework. The code is completely ready, and well-tested in EQ. Just need the balance team poking into DOING it.

Having played equilibrium on setons (only once, granted) i have a few concerns over the way the vet affects balance. For example, I was losing battlecruisers to aurora spam because they would never vet, which would never happen normally and is obviously a huge balance shift.

i guess, but given that battlecruisers hopelessly outrange and out...float? auroras it shouldnt really be a problem to simply move them back once in a while.
also they do overkill them by quite a bit so its not the most efficient use of BC
lastly you can use frigates for that purpose, or destroyers, or gunships
