Building Upgrade = FREE INTEL, no more?

I'm just dropping this here, where hopefully more coders, and people in the know about these sort of things are, and a place where it isn't hijacking some ones thread...

Maybe I'm the only one who feels this is a definite game-play issue, and if fixed could really be great for the game.

Sorry to hijack your thread SovietPride, but this is important! I thought once upon a time, coders and the community looked into making it so upgraded buildings don't give FREE intel to opponents; and it was deemed impossible because engine limitations or something like that (afaik.) This gives me new hope tho, radars upgrade no differently than any other upgradeable building right? Can maybe someone look into why the Radar doesn't grey out when advancing tiers and possibly add this FIX to all upgradable buildings so we can stop giving free intel through the fog of war?

radar does grey out if you scout it before it start the upgrade. Like all other building.
only one that is weird is the sonar, that shouldn't be grey when you scout it while it is upgrading, but it does remain grey.

half way solution for this is add personal stealth on building that can upgrade. -> this is in EQ

Personal stealth on building change nearly nothing
-> when upgrade then dont change to gray version, but change to new upgraded version (its not so super obvius, but still posible see that building was upgraded)
-> its not visible on radar whiteout scouting (what is back side, but nearly never a cause) as a building it stay visible on radar after first scouting.

i just tested your mod.
They still change turn in grey. But now it even easier to target them with unit (not sure if intended).

so you trade the fact that we can't see them on radar, by giving ability to still target the building after upgrade more easily.

I don't know, but i prefer current situation

hmm very strange, im 100% sure that it was working in past, then something was changed in main code. (or i do something retarded)

i dont tink that mechanic needs a change, it just makes the game harder especially if you tend to forget scouting. There are problems which are far more important and gamebreaking than this.
