Hosting a game - specifying ratings

Postby watermelon » 25 Oct 2015, 16:37

When hosting a game people usually specify the ratings people have to have to be allowed to join. It would be nice to:

- have an option to specify the minimum and/or maximum rating when hosting a game apart from the game title
- have an option to force these min/max ratings into effect so people can only join if they have the required rating
- be able to filter the list of games to only display the games where you can join

that would be very nice for everybody, except those, who are +500 above, join the game, are also accepted, and then, win of course.
but it is usual the way that there were 3,4 ppl +500 so it did even out.
anyway, this is kindof normal for almost any game..

in short, i would also like it very much. it would make those games less fast paced :-)

I would support a clear way of showing this in game title, but not making it inaccessible for players outside that rating range. Many lobbies are launched with players outside the rating range to get a game started quicker. Making these games diassapear on filter is also a bad idea I think. We just don't have enough hosted lobbies to warrant such a system, and it could make FAF look empty, especially for new players.

Please note that by default games are still accessible for everyone. It would be an option for the game hoster that has to be checked before players with skill levels outside the specified range are excluded from joining.

Also hiding games outside your skill level is optional. Just like you can hide private games now, it would be possible to hide games outside your skill level. But by default all games are displayed.
