EcoManager and Common Mod Tools Problems

Postby MundMundus » 22 Aug 2019, 01:32

Hi all. This is my first time running into modding errors. Specifically, I'm trying to get the EcoManager mod to run on linux faf. Currently, none of it is functional, as the option to toggle mex upgrades in the options -> gameplay tab isn't there. I'm running Ubuntu 16.04, with FA installed with Steam Proton. Since EcoManager requires common mod tools (CMT), I tried reinstalling, but it gave me an error of
Mod 'Common Mod Tools' could not be installed: java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 400 for URL: content*faforever*com/mods/...

I put *s in there cuz it doesn't like me putting periods in.

In order to remedy this, I copied the same version of CMT on my Windows 8 computer to my mod file path in linux (/home/max/.faforever/user/My Games/Gas Powered Games/Supreme Commander Forged Alliance/mods). I restarted faf on linux and tried again. I looked for the options to toggle mex upgrades in the options -> gameplay tab, but they still weren't there. I checked the lua files, and everything seems to be fine in terms of file paths. I've also attached the faf and game logs. After CMT with EcoManager failed, I tried removing CMT and seeing whether EcoManager would work, but it still failed.

While we're still on the topic of errors, I've noticed that mods like RevealPositions, which I was able to download, don't work either. I sandboxed with an ai, and it failed to reveal it's position. Phantom mod doesn't work either. All testing was done on the map Alpha 7 Quarantine, if it makes any difference. Quality of performance seems to work though.

Thanks for any insight ya'll might have.

Okay nevermind. I just tested Quality of Performance in sandbox and it doesn't work. Building a land fac with cybran acu still has high quality enabled. Only reason I thought it worked was because I tried some different mods (without QoP enabled!) and somehow it worked...
