Updated the Thowlus to V3, now is a beefier walking land unit.

Here's some older designs of various units for the curious:
Dilopholaser V1:
Similar in functionality to the current model. I was making all the textures by hand and sucking at it.

Dilopholaser V2:
Nearly made it a mobile experimental w/ deployment. I was going for a clunky/made of trash/salvage sort of look, then realized the dilophosaurus frill was gold.

Thowlus V1:
Inspired by a cool image I saw, but it looked a little derpy in game

Similar idea to the current model, but I figured making it more similar to the Harbinger IV (the legs) was a good idea

i actually really like the Dilopholaser V2, looks like it could be some sort of walking artillery unit, or sniper tank kinda thing
it looks best when its not got its frill open imo, im imagining that gun thing could recoil past its side plates when it fires, ect : D
edit: actually i know what i desire most now - replace that laser for it with some gun barrel and make it a redo of the scathis! scathis is old and ugly, but this is cool and beautiful.

also if you need help balancing these units so that they are interesting to use and not useless or op, i could help if you want.

I'd love that! It takes me 2-3 days to make a unit (when everything runs smoothly), and I'd like to have at least two units per faction before I call it a working mod. Right now I'm working on a mid-tier T4 UEF unit (baking textures as I type), and it should be pretty straightforward to get working. Then an Aeon unit, but I'm still figuring out how I'll code it/if its possible :)

Because I don't intend to make equivalent units between the factions, I figure I need to counter with more unique units. So balancing will be tricky!

Edit: Oh, as to the scathis suggestion, I don't want to change vanilla units. The scathis is certainly bizarre, but if anything I'd want to compliment it's weirdness and integrate it more.

If you (or anyone) have other unit ideas, in line with my goals for the mod, I'd happily give them a go :D Won't be as magical as balthazar's mod request though haha

I rather like the impaler; mostly for the idea of tagging enemy units and then pseudo-secretly getting a small vision radius on the tagged unit... hmm. The Aeon Herbest is a fantastic idea too, although, I don't see the point of converting wreckage to an equivalent unit and not simply reanimating it for your own forces. These would both be really challenging for me to implement. I don't even know how I'd begin!

Also, added UEF T4 Pummeler; air based artillery

Added another unit; Aeon Athena!
Honestly though, I think it's kind of dumb. I'll probably distill out the good stuff from it into other Aeon units.
Also, added a link to download this early early version for those willing to suffer my work!

granted, you need downlords client to upload mods to it, but it does work
