Turning the AI off

Postby KD7BCH » 10 Jul 2015, 15:22

I wanted to test some base defense builds. I can't figure out how to turn off the enemy AI or control their units, Is there a NULL AI like back in the old SC days anybody has?

Does anybody know how to make the AI stop building stuff?

Help appreciated.

Thanks

enable cheats, launch the game, open cheat console via Alt + F2, double click AI army, delete ACU, profit!

OK that was fast :) Thanks,
So if I am in Sandbox game then I could build the defense with my units, then select the lot, and give them to the enemy, and then march a fatty against the fixed installations and the units would fire on my units and the enemy would react as enemy correct?

I don't need the enemy AI to do anything except for the units to fire and for me to measure K:D ratios and assess damage rates.

Really I'm trying to test SACU changes and nerfing HPs and finding a better balance on that but I think testing base defense configurations are great and one of the things I'd like to get some set pieces worked on I could build with an SCU I am pretty big into templates freeing my my APM for ASF micro and watching for cheap shot Strat attacks.

Having 2 SCUs that could plop down an few different back up defenses in like 3-4 min would be kick ass.

Delete AI acu and build base as AI useing t3 engies or something...

You can't gift units to enemy

Or build base and assault it with AI scus

Check out that cheat menu, there is enought to test things
Alt+del - delete unit ( no annoying explosions)
Alt+ t - teleport unit
Ctrl+shift+c - copy unit
+v - paste unit

Edit: don't forget to give ai an storage in order to shields and radars to work. Also i think you can spawn any other scu or acu and ai will not controll them..

Another thing that you may want to be aware of with AI controlled mobile units, if you place them where the AI starts, the AI may start to move them as its own. I have had that time to time when I spawn in some mobile units for the AI. Try to setup your firing ground away from any start positions. Even though the AI ACU and all its units may have been deleted, the program for it is still running.

Also ALT + A toggles the AI from issuing new orders. It will continue to follow orders it has already issued though.

Even more good info Awesome! Well yes I was going to setup some fixed defenses but it might be worth it to have some T3 units on patrol or just in place inside the shield grids.

I want to test SACUS and see how many I'd need to crack a really strong defense. My theory is basically once you get 10 of them you can roll any defense but each faction has varying levels of defense.

Cybran being the weakest, UEF strongest, combined defenses though are the best I think. Sera T3 shields, Cybran TMD, UEF T3 PD, Sera T2 PD, Some Bricks and Percies, etc I might even want to test some EXPs as defenders.

Here you go, but this will not work with FAF due to the way it handles scd files (white / black list). There is a way to get it working, but it will only work when you run the FA executable from your FAF bin folder (local game, not through FAF lobby). Unfortunately I do not have time right now to write up a whole explanation of how to do it as it will require making copies and modifying lua files in your FAF bin folder. The easiest way is to have this file added to the white list that FAF allows. Maybe you can talk to an admin to add it in so it does not keep removing it when you go to play onlne.

Edit.
Another obstacle :x , forum does not allow uploads of scd files. I renamed the extension to zip. Just change it back to scd and place in your FA gamedata folder.
