Trouble with team assignments, allies and enemies

I and 3 of my friends just started playing FAF. We often like to play games mixed with some AI and form teams in the lobby. However, it seems that most of the time the teams we form get mixed up when the game starts.
It seems enemies and allies are somewhat random and rarely matches what you pick in the lobby.
Is there something I need to do to make this work? or is there some known issues in this area?

I've also seen this recently. As far as I know this is happening since the last patch.

The lobby has an auto-team-balancing feature hiding in it. It's been around for a while and is in dire need of some TLC.

The idea is that when enabled, this feature shuffles players between teams when the game starts to try and make the teams balanced. The problem is that this feature is activated if you set the "Spawn" option to "random".

That is, "random spawns" really means "attempt to auto-balance the teams". It's unclear why it was done this way, but we'll get round to beating it with a stick sometime (but probably not this cycle).

In the meantime, assuming that really is your problem, make sure you set spawns to "fixed". If that doesn't solve your problem you might have a more interesting issue.

Ahh Thanks! I had the spawn set to random. Just did a quick test and with spawn set fixed and it seems to be working as expected now. Thanks again for the quick reply
