Cybran Teleport Microwave Laser kill strategy

Hi @ll,

in my last game is something crazy happened.
I was defeating my opponent. My army was still standing in hiss base, as it makes BOOOOOOM!!!! In my base.
I don´t understand what shit is happening now.
I know Supreme Commander is a hard snipering game, but I had the air control, there was no army moving to my base. My base was protected against nukes and for tactical missiles was the range too long. But something must kill my comander.

I had to look the whole replay to understand.
He was a cybran commander.
He has upgrade his com with Microwave Laser Generator and Personal Teleporter.
And his last order before be defeated was to jump over the whole map into my base in front of my commander.
He slaughters my commander in less than 3 seconds.

How can I protect my Commander against this cheating strategy?

It's not a cheating strategy and you can defend with t1 pd spam

This "Cheating" strategy (which is extremely expensive) can be countered by something like 15 t1 pds around your acu.

this is more a ALL or Nothing straty... you can kill him or you can die in the front of superior PD DPS

How can I protect my Commander against this cheating strategy?

First of all you need to remember that you playing against cybran, so they have that ability to upgraide laser and teleport
and if you scout enemy base and see not much being build but he has many t3 power, then he may be making those acu upgraides

to defend get t2 t3 upgraides and shield/regen/stealth on acu, also stationary shields can help,
AND get about ~25 t1 pds or 25 t3 gunships (if you use strats be carefull of friendly fire), or any direct fire unit with big dps, like GC, monkeylord, 20 t3 bots or go underwater with acu, set acu on transport and hide it some where out of enemy scouts/radars

also when someone teleports to you, you can see blue ring in place where he is going to teleport

Like the others said, get T1 PD around your com. 15 would be a good number. Late game, you should also have T3 engineering upgrade and hide under shields or in water. As I play UEF, I like to upgrade personal shield too. All these measures are really cheap once we're talking mass incomes of 200+ / second.

what if some how all your t3 power is not protected by t1 pds?
or any other important building (nuke, antinuke, t3 arty, air/navy factory HQ)?
ofc telport is expencive but in late game it becomes less and less expencive pretty fast
you can harras your opponent with teleport acu on big map, snipe t3 mexes in corners and such stuff...
but need to be really carefull and not get strat sniped

edit: it is not always like that - "you are winning and opponent goes for desperate tele snipe"
in late game teleport acu can be risky harrasment tactic, also with t3 on acu you can build some harms/sams or even monkeylord behind enemy lines

or maybe you are kinda winning, but not couse you have enemy surrounded by your air,land,navy... maybe you are winnnig cause you have better eco and have t3 arty and good defence fron anything except maybe teleport snipe of your eco and t3 power adjustency farms that allowed you to get ahead in eco are now vunerable...
