How do I highlight/ping an area on the map for my allies to see? I notice also it can be done in different colours?

Is there a best way to message your allies, currently I am hitting return to bring up the text box, changing the setting to allies, then typing, which seems slow and easy to accidentally broadcast to all!

Was trying to follow the advice to ensure my system is setup right, but it seems the lobby when I host a game no longer has the option to show the FA logs?

Do I have a problem ?

If you can't connect to a game/someone, it can be caused by that someone else having improper settings. In order to be sure :

Try to host a game.
in the lobby, click "Help - Show Logs".
Open the file "faforever.log" in a text editor.
Search for these lines.

Is there any general best advise on when/if you should level your commander up to t2 - presumably mostly for the health increase?

Using Alt+RightClick seems unreliable for getting your eng to move and constantly reclaim, eg if you click on top of actual reclaim the cursor changes and your eng will go straight to that spot and only reclaim one bit. Am i doing best practice?

Should you add 4 mass storage about a mex before or after you upgrade to T2, i have read differing theories on this!

f6 is the blue ping, which is asking your allies to move somewhere
f7 is red ping, asking your allies to attack
f8 is the marker so you can put a note on the map

the pings appear wherever your cursor is at the time, also there is a small tab just under your eco with these options

Shift+enter

zoom out if necessary, the cursor will change back to normal allowing you to do an attack move

after, they storages pay back quicker when you get to t2 mexes

2)find diplomation menu on top, it looks like two hands making handshake

also note that given units will be obstructed when the player that originally built them dies, unless they were upgraded
