t2 cybran navy

Postby Circuit » 14 Feb 2014, 08:09

I look to the t2 navy for all factions and like a lot player think: the cybran t2 is almost a serial killer.

I wonder if a mixed of siren and baracuda (without salem) have enough fire power to break into other fleet. The siren has a great aa and can switch to attack ground with a great dps and reach for a cheaper mass and cheaper build time but low hp. The baracuda can get fast and for less mass. But I got some con: torpedos def less effectif and less hp in the fleet

So for a sea strike should i go for a more ship mixing t2 sub and siren or i should with a more balance fleet with a salem

Salems are what makes cybran navy great. If you make barracudas you will almost definitely lose since they are so easily hard countered. You'll do quite all right if you only ever build salems and frigates.

Sure barracudas are cool. Early barracuda can kill whole T1 fleet(if it's well microed of corse). If they push you out of sea, it might get hard to get back since you can't shoot those with torp bombers because of stealth. But in general salem is a far better unit than barracudas. Though they are worth to be in mixed in fleet. Enemy will not see these subs by scouting. That may cause him to underestimate you and attack, which will end very badly for UEF opponent If he built only destroyers.

WTF? Salems are way more effective vs subs/submerged destroyers than barracudas are.

I like Barracudas to counter UEF shield boats. Barracudas are fast, so can go right under the shield and kill the boat. Meanwhile the rest of your army can keep some distance and benefit from stealth boats and from Salem range.

Yes, Salems have much more HP, you can see that on this Lu_Xun_17 vs Zock Replay:

i just test my mix vs a classic mix of cybran navy

so i got 3 t2 sub , 2sirens and 3 t1 sub vs 2 salem and 4 frigate.

The result I GOT FUCKING RAPE!!! I barely scratch the paint of the salem with my sub....

So, dont do this. Put salem early when you reach t2 navy.

Salem are imo the best T2 naval unit but of course you need the AA from your other T2 or you'll just lose to air, a couple of weeks back I tried using cybran for naval on setons it was fantastic, I rushed T2 and eco'd hard at the same time (thank god for reclaim) and used my first Salem to assist our front player bringing in the others as they were made pushing him way back, I then went on to attack my naval opponent who had just gone T3 and started building the dreaded sera T3 subhunters thankfully he only had 3 by the time I reached his base and pummeled him on numbers alone, I then used the walk on land advantage of them to destroy his base and after accusing me of being a smurf he rage quit, I then walked these back down to the front front player and left him sandwiched and we killed him off, unfortunately in the end we lost, our guy lost the other naval pond and that guy then went on to destroy us all, though I feel we would have won if our air player had been any good

The only problem is when the other side reaches T3 cybran are screwed if that happens especially with T3 seraphim so you've got to shit down their naval game fast
