How to connect to FAF via a private network? PLZ

Hi! Yes please help, i'm a newbie!

I just arrived in my new flat (very cool and the weather is perfect!) and it was written "free high speed internet".
Actually it's in a student building, and to get internet, you have to log to a network.

Problem is that once connected to "internet", i only can use chrome and skype. I can''t connect to faf, steam, mumble, teamspeak, sc2 or anything else!

Is there a way to resolve this very annoying issue?

I'm guessing you would need some sort of VPN. Or a good talk with the sysadmin.

Actually i don't have any much more information either. I just received a paper with login and password, to be able to login when i connect my pc the the ethernet port of my flat.

I tried to use my VPN, but it didn't work.
I agree i think i have to offer a beer to the admin. But i have first to find who he is.
Or maybe i have to buy a box.

I'm guessing they would block the xbox ports as well. Talking to the sysadmin would be your best bet. Show him your tournament-avatars .

Sorry, what I mean is get your own wireless broadband dongle and avoid the school network completely.

The connection is kinda totaly blocked.
Even ping google.com dont recive any answer, as we just figured out.
