ok, that may be a stupid question, but with the (temporary) removal of matchmaker form faf, is the 1v1 ladder still 'active'? If not, how do I improve my rank? Just hosted games or is there another way?
The wiki describes some options in the client that seem to be long gone...

Today pilot(the guy who runs FAF) decided to close down the ladder due to "complaints" about the map pool and league system. It will likely be back soon once everyone cools off .

PilOt put it on us to fix the matchmaker- which is fair. It's being done now. Hopefully it'll get sorted and the matchmaker will be back soon.
