1. When you build a second air factory you need at least 6 pgens or else you'll power stall, it's also good to build a factory with 2 engies not 1, especially the early ones or spam ones.

2. Nice raiding with hunters, but you need to keep moving, their speed is their advantage, don't stop by a mex and kill it, keep hunting (no pun intended) for engies

3. You never ever ever want to waste mass, if you have mass, build factories or upgrade mexes, if you don't have power to build stuff spam out power hard.

4. Nice early expansion on the right and to the hydro, but it's a good idea generally to get early hydros with 2 engies because they take a long time to build

5. Reclaim reclaim reclaim, there are loads of trees to reclaim when you're power stalling, also there were rocks all around the mountains to reclaim. If you don't know the map it's generally a good idea to look around the map when you're building your first factory so you can find reclaim, figure out terrain, etc.

Hi Daltoni, at the start of the game you wasted mass and had not enough power. My advice is to start your powerspam much earlier and also build extra factories earlier. Watch some replays of good players and copy what they do at the start of the game. Good luck!

Ok new replay for you guys, i know that i wasted some of the navy fac relaim at the start which was bad (otherwise i thought my econ was serviceable although was floating alot of mass at times). Some of the drops did not have adequate fighter escort which was also a mistake that could have been exploited. Finally built my first attacking unit at 5 minutes which may have been a bit late as i hadnt scouted to see if he was going for a rush.

anything other feedback on how to up my game would be great.

(sorry for being disparaging about his attempted snipe, just felt like a nooby tactic.)

Maybe you should pick a replay where you lost?

Anyway. Your build order was not good at all. You need to build more factories and power fast to be able to use the massive reclaim fast. You didn't scout at all, for example you didn't scout that he had millions of jesters (in the end he suicided them but OK). You flew all your air over his 20 anti air turrets which killed all your air. You had a ton of navy that you didn't use until very late. Watch some replays of 2000+ players to see how they play on that map. If you do two simple things: 1. get a good build order 2. set factory rally points to enemy base, then you can at least get to around 1200 level play without doing anything else.

cheers, and the replays where i lose are generally shorter (if i do get one longer than about 11 minutes ill post it - did have one on open palms once but it desynched 5 mins in)

hadnt considered that with the rally points and i am kind of looking for a build order for maps with water atm. should i still build a 2 mantis 1 skyslammer 1 medusa combo even if i wont be able to use them for a while?

(and yeah lack of scouting was nooby, its something i need to work on thanks for the tip)

Don't build land units on water maps...even on land maps that doesn't sound like a good combo. You only need the skyslammer if you lost air control, and at the start you want more mantis than 2:1 mantis:medusa.

The build order is not so much about water vs non water, but has more to do with the massive amount of reclaim available. You want to put that reclaim into units as fast as possible. To do that you need factories, but building factories costs a lot of power, so you also need lots of power. What you don't want to do is walk around a lot with your acu. You should build at least 2 factories before walking with your acu. Here's what I would do: first engineer gets to the reclaim. Second & third engineers assist acu, then the engineers after that build mass extractors and expand on the map & build navy. Your acu builds a land factory, then a lot of power (maybe 8 or 9), then builds an air factory, then more power, then another air factory. It is probably not easy to execute just from a description. Just watch a replay by RA_ZLO or BC_Blackheart on white fire and do what they do.
