Please someone tell me how I lost

I'm not a pro, but all i can say is you didnt see anything. You lost your scouts in the beginning and there was no more scouting from then.

And you used your bombers to "smash" small parts of his base. But he used his land units to "smash" your commander...

My conclusion: if you want to use bombers right do more scouting and use them wisely!

Nice early bomber play, but after you killed his hydro and pgens, you should have used the bombers to kill his Mantis and/or help defend your ACU. Your bombers were being slaughtered over your opponent's base because of all the T1 AA.

Of course that's all easy to say when watching the replay...

first its a 5x5 map

your starting was nice if you would have gone for Aurora spam you could maybe have won it.

second wth you target with your bombers??? the Hydro? and than pgens? you should ahve gone for engis and units.

Don't remember a game where sniping a hydro where he has engis and an acu next to worth it.

Hydro cost 160 mass, Bombers 80 mass so you sucide around 5 bombers in that Hydro..... big lose he can reclaim your bobmers and rebuild the hydro on the wreck for 80 mass.
for each bomber you build he can build 2-3 mantis. so 5 or more bombers from you are around 12 mantis he can build.

more than 3 bombers get pretty useless on the map. Bombers are just usefull if you know you get kills with them.

but remember if you kill structures he can rebuild on the wreck with half cost if you kill units he will have to rebuild them

You had nice plan but most of players make too much power anyway...

you were going for hydro, just wach replay and see how fast he rebuild it, hydro is epicly cheap and have good HP

after that you were too agressive with acu and were havetoo trow your avroras at mantis to try to retreat and avroras just dissapear in blink of eye, probably thats all

Holy crap, a lot of replies. I should have used the bombers to target engineers and units basically. But that is so much micro I had to run my auroras into his Manti in an attempt to get away from them, but it didn't work So I had no units quickly. So the advantage of going early air is essentially to target enemy units and engineers with relative impunity compared to ground troops? Cool.

if you want them to move back just click once.

clicking more often cause them to move forward. (totaly stupid this Auroras)

You should have used your bombers for snipes (outlying engineers) and defence. As it was they spent a lot of time doing no real damage and getting shot by AA.

Also his major raiding force was ignored, by the time it was at the top middle you should have been sending everything at it to stop it getting any further (especially considering your bombers could have wiped it out in no time). By the end of the game, that raiding party meant that your eco was half of his.

One thing you pretty much have to do on that map is make a T1 PD at the smaller entrance to your base, in between the two mex points is ideal. That stops any attempted incursions and as long as you stop the other player doing the same by getting a LAB or two there asap then you have pretty much won.

Here are two of my replays from that map showing the PD placement, in both you can see how useful it is in cutting off an important line of attack, you can also see how I take advantage of there being no PD on the opponent's side.

One other thing that I find is very helpful is to deny the other player's hydro. Aside from the loss of eco, it is damned irritating and will often make a player over-commit to removing your hydro-harrassers. Here's another replay showing good hydro-denial, and also showing that T1 PD being worth its weight in gold.

Unfortunately, it also shows that my biggest mistake is thinking that my commander is John Rambo.

The last one was best, watching it from his perspective you destroyed him in the beginning and had, for all intents and purposes, already won, only to throw it away later through bad logistics. The over confidence thing gets us all though, when we just can't envisage losing, only to end up losing.
