Games where your APM is stretched to the limit!?

We've all had them, no matter what you do you just cannot keep up with your enemy. You know you need to tech a factory up, or build something, or change your build queue, but you don't have a second to spare.

What do you do in such a situation!?

They are usually not games your (mechanical)APM is at the limit, many of us could reach a lot higher apm in those situations if we didn't have to think about all the thing going on and try to find solutions all the time.
ie. a raid on the lef -> send 2 tanks+1 engy, takes four actions and ,5 seconds.
What really happens instead is we go like: OH NO, A RAID ON THE LEFT, what do I do?!!! Bomb it? No send thanks, how many tanks do I need? Oh, crap, a bomber above my power! Need to send inties. Damn forgot to send that engy to rebuild! 2-4 seconds pass when we have those 4-12 actions accomplishing the same thing. And two more problems arise that we need to respond to and we're in deeper ****. This is also why aggressive playstyles are often rewarded, you can create these situations instead of responding to them.

If we just had robotic default reactions to everything, we'd get by with much less hassle.


What I do, is just breathe out, zoom out, recognise a weakspot in the enemy and all-in there. Screw the expansions, just snipe they guy or kill his main and it's all good.

Playing air when you have to scout and protect ACU'S from snipes build up your eco try to win air, build TMD keep on top of energy and when you can ras look for opportunities to snipe.
Yeah it can get a bit overwhelming at times so I focus on what's important for the team and learnt its better to stay zoomed out as much as I can .
