Problem with creating FaF Account [SOLVED]

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere,

When I went to create an account with the same name as I am using here my validation email tells me the account name is taken in the time it took for the email to get into my inbox (approx 2 seconds)

I have tried numerous different names but the same result.

is this a bug? EricTheSalmon is my gamer name! I can't imagine not having it. Hope it's fixable or someone has experienced the same thing?

There already is a player with your name in the user list. You can check this here (leave some fields blank like written below). http://app.faforever.com/faf/userName.php
Maybe you created the user already? Forum user and FAF User are not connected.
Try to make a new password, else you will just have to accept that you will need another name in FAF.
