Sound Issue

I am having a strange issue where sound will periodically stop playing for long periods of time, only to reappear later. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

See if it helps to disable some playback sound setting in the Windows sound settings. I have two playback sound devices: Digital Audio (HDMI) and Speakers. Since I only use Speakers I disabled HDMI. I'm not sure but since I disabled HDMI my sound issues seem to have disappeared.
