I discovered it yesterday and never heard of this community before, so i think interesting to share this here :
Yes, there were a hidden sup com community since a long time, in China. Not big at all on China scale, but still significant for us: about 500 chinese players quite well organized play FA using different QQ chat groups linked to a sort of RTS lobby where you can launch FA. From it you can join games via the local multiplayer button. (QQ is the chinese equivalant of facebook). Really few of the chinese population speaks english, but they looks to all know and follow faf's devloppment.
Their FA is updated at 3627 right now!
However they do not have ranked or other usefull feature we have. They only have an online file vault where they can find maps, mods, new designed faf lobby or patches.
Being in the chat was quite funny, i could not read anything, but was seeing « faf » or « luxun » in the middle of chinese sentences. Then i played some funny not laggy (but rusty for me^^) 1vs1 games against some chinese players. It was weird, their admins were in observer in the games and were constantly posting dozens of screenshots in the chat so other people could follow the games. (that's when you realize how usefull livereplay is !)
They also use a number to assign a level from 0 (new player) to 6 to find manualy some opponents of their level.
Maybe we could discover some new excellent players because chinese players in FAF with 1950 rating has a number 4 on QQ. So i imagine a #6 player might be very strong. I really hope to find and play some of them!
This also explains the myserious smurfs often arriving in faf top20 ranked from nowhere (they were not smurfs but chinese players practicing before with china community (Dragon777, wee, Sye, xpoy and probably some others).
From what i've seen, chinese players looks very friendly and fairplay, (and fanboys lol).
Here are few screenshots of 2 chatrooms and chinese pings
