Gaming/Life/Work balance

Postby Sunny » 05 Mar 2013, 21:24

Hello, folks!

Recently, I came back to playing FA after like 4 years not playing at all.

And I feel some interesting thing.

OR I play too much (20+ games a day), I'm glad and happy OR I play like 3 games and feel somewhat unsatisfied.
In 1st scenario, my wife is somewhat unsattisfied, and I'm happy, my boss still doesn't feel the difference.
In 2nd scenario, I'm not happy.

How do you solve this?

Tips, tricks, strategies...

I ask me that question too.
I have a wife and a small child, and there is not much time.
in my spare time, i read a lot and in the night, when both sleep, i play for one hour or lets say, two games MAX.
then it is time to go to bed.. at approx three a clock. well... then sometimes at day i do a quick game. thats it.
i am not satisfied with this, BUT, if I would play more, the game would get boring, i wuold win more games so it would not be that interesting to me AND my wife would be even more upset. hmm...

SupCom is more than a game, it is so complex. You can apply the strategies that you learn in SupCom to everyday life. At the end of the day, you need to do what makes you happy, what you enjoy. I'm only part time employed at the moment and without SupCom there would have been nothing to fill the gap. Strategy is infinite, there is so much you can do and all the while you are improving your brain whilst you are playing. It's not just a case of real life>gaming everytime. It is a far more complex situation than that.

Wife, wife and child? If you're then asking if you should play a lot of games then you really have to sort your priorities out. Real life > online gaming, as is already said.

I'm studying mathematics and when I have to choose between study and gaming, study always goes first. It's not hard to imagine why if you see the kind of assignments I get from the courses I do.

That is your opinion. SupCom is more than simply an online game.

I always keep more eggs in the baseket....work, sports, my girlfriend, gaming, friends...

Sometimes I do much more sport, then there are times I do a lot more gaming...it depends on my moods and what makes me happy and satisfies me...it's all about balance ;)

If you wanna get pro you have to deal with the tradeoffs and pay the price for that...but thats no option for me.

EDIT: and there are times i do my girlfriend a lot :D

well i keep it short. i have to go eat, hehe.
i made already my priorities quite well like it shall be:
family, friends, work and then hobby. maybe i should switch hobby and work, but well, hobby is not sport, its the spare time you can fill with everything that is meaningful to you. AND you need the work to feed and buy and live.. well.

but when it comes to the hobby, the gaming is taking a great role there AND i sorted the gaming out like this:
THERE IS JUST ONE GAME, AND THAT IS FA

Enough said? :-) There is no more time to do/play. I tested so many games, so many things. I have to take me the time to buy some stuff at ebay, take me some time to post this here, and there is waiting in the pipeline my guess/hunch about WHY Planetary Annihilation is being a BIG fail. When time comes.... i post, hehe.

You all know how many games just pretend to be better. In former days we all had more time to spare. Many played Counterstrike a lot, or TA, or whattheheck.
Now new games are so ...
