source: http://wiki.faforever.com/index.php?title=Reporting_Technical_Issues

Open your lobby installation log folder (c:\ProgramData\FAForever\logs\ )
Alternatively, you can use "Show logs" in the lobby HELP menu), and look for a text file name game (or game.log if you see extensions). Open it, and paste the whole file here: http://pastebin.com/

Hello DarkKaiser,

then lets do a workaround to get the logs:

Make a desktop-shortcut from the file:

C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe
(Rightclick the file and select "Send to" -> Desktop Shortcut")

Open the shortcut and change the Command line (target):
from:

C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe

to:

C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe /init init_fafbeta.lua /log C:\game.log

This Shortcut will start the beta(3652) version of the game, and saves the game.log to c:\

greetings, uveso.

I followed the instructions over at "forums.faforever.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=11471&p=117681#p117681" (cannot include urls yet) to get the files for Blackops working on FAF3652beta. When playing with a friend of mine at some point we experienced desync issues. This happened after a reinstall of the game and only having the four given mods active. Can anyone suggest how to proceed from here?

Hello Demsterious,

first of all, welcome to FAForever :)

Without a "game.log" i can only guess;

I don't belief that Black Ops is causing desyncs.
Maybe if you overwrite an old versions of Bo with the new one, without deleting the old first.

If you are playing the Beta, it's more likely you and your friend are not using the same build.
Even if you are using version 3652. All 3-4 Days there is a "new" 3652 version.

Try to udate the game with the FAForever Lobby on all PC (at the same time) and try again.

If you are sure your mod folder contains the same files as on your friend's PC, and you still have desync's maybe some other gamefiles dont have the right version.

Copy the directory:
C:\ProgramData\FAForever\gamedata
from your computer to your friends PC.

And try again.

If you still have desync issues try to copy the whole gamedir to your friends computer.

Desync is caused to ~75% by different gamefiles. So we should try to have the same files on both computers.

As i said, this is only a guess, maybe i am totally wrong. :)

[edit]: Be sure maps are also the same on both PC!

Hey Uvesco,

Thanks for the kind welcome. We also played a game of Xtreme wars and did not experience any desync.

Your suggestions seem like a good way to get started!
